In the past 30 days we’ve released a number of new, highly anticipated features that dramatically improve the capabilities of TrueTour™, delivering significant impact for our customers. Take a look at a few of the things we’ve been working on behind the scenes:

ADA Compliance Updates: The world’s most accessible immersive experience!

TrueTour's Accessibility audit, displaying a 97 / 100 score for TrueTour's accessibility with screenreaders

We’ve been running our platform through a strict ADA optimization overhaul, and we’re proud to announce major strides in the accessibility of TrueTour. All TrueTour controls, navigation features and text are now readable via screen readers for the visually impaired and can be navigated using screen reader technology. The TrueTour sidebar menus, photo/video galleries, and other TrueTour content has been optimized for legibility and ease of navigation.

ADA compliance is a critical topic for our customers. With these recent updates, TrueTour is effectively the world’s most accessible way to utilize 360° and 3D visual experiences on websites, in proposals, on social media and more! Think about what that means for your business!

Using Google Chrome’s developer accessibility audit, we’ve scored TrueTour’s accessibility against other 360° and 3D content platforms in the marketplace. We found TrueTour scored on average 41% higher than other 360°/3D visual and event marketing technology.

Take a look and see how 360° and 3D experiences delivered inside TrueTour stack up against top immersive platforms on their own!

Soon we will announce our third-party accessibility grade, so stay tuned for our official ADA certification. Contact us for more details, and stay tuned for updates as we continue to improve our accessibility features.

Marriott and others don’t allow 3D/Matterport on brand websites: why this is and how we’ve solved this problem for the hospitality industry!

Introducing TrueTour’s ‘error sensing redirect functionality’

When viewers find 360° and 3D content on the internet, more than 97% of the time they can easily and immediately view and enjoy this content. But every now and then (about 3% of the time) immersive visuals fail to load because the viewer’s computer, browser and/or hardware don’t support these newer, modern visuals.

For major brands this is a huge problem! Companies like Marriott, Hilton and others have chosen NOT to allow most immersive visuals onto their hotel websites because of this inconsistent user experience. This eliminates the competitive advantage these brands could enjoy from the broad use of immersive consumer experiences online.

On August 20th, 2019, Visiting Media announced an new feature now included in it’s TrueTour CMS technology that solves this problem, making it possible for hotels to use immersive content anywhere online. Now companies can deliver consistent user experiences 100% of the time with TrueTour, even when the viewer’s computers doesn’t support 360° and 3D.

Here’s how it works: When 360° and 3D visuals are housed inside TrueTour’s CMS, TrueTour quickly checks the viewer’s browser and operating system compatibility. This occurs in the milliseconds before any 360° or 3D visual delivery is attempted. If TrueTour detects any compatibility issues, an ‘alternative experience’ to the 360° or 3D is immediately delivered to the customer – they never know the difference.

This seamless ‘redirect’ would only occur for the very few viewers with compatibility issues, allowing the vast majority of consumers to enjoy powerful immersive visual experiences where they’ve previously been prohibited.

In dollars and cents, this feature means hundreds of thousands of dollars in increased sales for many hotels. Simply put, using immersive visual experiences properly on a hotel’s website increases private event RFPs, booking speed, revenue per booking, room upgrades and incremental revenue in many previously impossible ways.
