Meet our Senior Support Coach for Corporate Accounts, Laura Thornton!
Today we’re introducing Laura Thornton, our Senior Support Coach in charge of supporting our corporate and group accounts with their TrueTour portfolio launch.
Many of our customers know Laura as their smart, hard-working success manager with impeccable attention to detail and adept at organization. We also know her as our warm, caring colleague who is an incredible team player. We’re excited to introduce her and help you get to know her better! We asked Laura some questions about herself, read on to learn more.
What attracted you to working for Visiting Media?
I loved the idea of being on a new side of hospitality! The majority of my career has been in hospitality and this offered an opportunity to try out a new field, while also still being connected to the hospitality industry. In addition to this when I heard about the product I wished this was something I had when I was back in events!
What is your favorite feature/benefit of the TrueTour™ app?
The fact that you can take all of your collateral, house it in one place and turn it into a deliverable for your client. Not only is the immersive content beautiful, it also makes answering client questions so much easier. I used to have to search through a ton of folders just to find one picture or PDF to send to a client, and having it in one location makes it so much easier.
What energizes you at work?
Fun teammates and an enjoyable work environment (even though ours is fully virtual, it’s still fun)!
Do you have any heroes or inspirational figures you look up to, and why?
There may be too many to count haha! I am really inspired by those who are able to take things one day at a time, stay calm, and also find the joy in life. My parents, my 106 year old grandpa, and a number of family friends come to the top of my mind.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Checklists! I love being able to cross things off a list and feel productive.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
There is this cozy town up in Northern California called Dillon Beach and it is quite remote with just one little convenience store and one restaurant, then the rest of it is a few streets of beach houses. It’s cozy and cloudy during the summer and our family used to go up and stay for a week and I have the best memories from there. I grew up in the desert so going somewhere cloudy in the summer was exactly what we were looking for!
Do you have any upcoming travel that you’re most looking forward to?
I am planning a trip to walk the Mont Blanc trail in the next couple of years and I cannot wait!
What is your favorite book?
I can’t choose a favorite, but a great one I read recently was called The Lost Feast which features different ingredients that we may not have known existed in our time as they went extinct before then!
How do you prefer to start your day?
A nice walk and a hot cup of green tea!
How do you prefer to end your day?
Cooking a yummy meal and a little evening walk or yoga.
Sounds great to us! As an incredibly valuable member of our team, we appreciate Laura and all of our Support Department. A positive customer experience is at the top of our list of company values, and our Support Team is a vital aspect of our customer’s wonderful experience.
We’re currently hiring for new team members in the Support, Sales and Engineering departments. To join our fully remote team, check out our LinkedIn page or connect with HR@VisitingMedia.com to submit your resume today!
