Remodeling = Massive Immersive Marketing Opportunity!

Remodeling and updating furniture is common in the hospitality industry. As hotels alter their look and feel to keep up with consumer trends, it’s also critical to modernize the visual selling tools they use to show off newly remodeled spaces.  Having the best visual selling tools increases the return on investment a newly remodeled property hopes to enjoy.

Traditionally after a remodel, a hotel would invest in a still photo shoot and possibly some video; this sort of production tends to be very expensive, require multiple days and a large crew of professionals. The industry has relied on this sort of post remodel photo shoot for more than 40 years making it a hard habit to break.

As the hospitality industry begins to understand and explore the power of immersive visual content we are noticing a trend away from traditional photos and videos towards immersive, highly experiential 360° and 3-D content types. These more modern visuals not only provide higher return on investment, but they are also far less expensive to create if you understand your options.  It’s even possible to extract high resolution, traditional still images from immersive visuals!

When a property remodels there exists an opportunity to show both before and after the remodel using experiential immersive content. Click here to see an example of a pre- remodel space captured with 360° imaging. Not only do these sort of visuals have higher engagement on social media, they also provide the hotel sellers an incredibly effective and impactful visual aid with which to bolster sales of the remodeled spaces.

During our sales call, hotels with a pending remodel often use this as an ‘objection’ or reason to not begin an immersive marketing campaign. Pragmatically, it’s assumed that capturing immersive visuals ahead of a remodel makes no sense however there is a lot of evidence to the contrary. Our data clearly shows that capturing spaces before and after a remodel provides a much higher return on investment and is well worth the effort. This is one reason we never charge our customers to re-shoot their spaces after a remodel!
